Practical guides and reviews for everyday decisions
Who we are, what we publish, and — because you deserve to know — how this site makes money.
What we cover
Sterling Journal publishes practical, consumer-focused content across four areas: money and personal finance, home and energy, health, and lifestyle. Our articles range from how-to guides and explainers to buyer’s guides and in-depth looks at specific products.
Our aim with every piece is the same: give readers enough clear, usable information to make their own decision — whether that’s tackling a DIY project, comparing options, or deciding a product isn’t for them.
How we make money
Sterling Journal is a commercial publisher. Some of the products featured on this site are ones we have a financial relationship with: when you buy through links in our articles, we may earn a commission or referral fee from the seller. This is how the site is funded, and it’s something you should know when reading any product-related page here.
Pages that promote a specific product — including our long-form “reviewed report” features — are commercial content, and we label them accordingly. Compensation never changes the price you pay.
Our editorial standards
We hold our product content to a simple set of rules: we describe products based on what they actually are and do; we don’t present paid promotion as independent journalism; we label sponsored and affiliate content so readers can tell what they’re looking at; and we only cite reviews, ratings, or media coverage that genuinely exist, with links to the source.
If we get something wrong, we correct it. Spotted an error? Tell us and we’ll fix it.
Who we are
Sterling Journal was founded in 2026 and is produced by a small, independent team of writers and editors. We cover the same bills, budgets, projects, and routines our readers manage — and we write about them the way we’d want them explained to us: plainly, practically, and with the numbers shown.
